The Continental ContiSportAttack 4 was born from the evolution of the popular ContiSportAttack 3 and marked an important revolution in the sports tire segment with the introduction of the new patented compound, BlackChili. We can defined this tire as the pre-race tire stage, which allows the amateur user to take their first steps on the track.
BlackChili compound is exclusively manufactured at the Continental factory in Korbach, Germany, combining the very latest polymers with specially developed carbon black particles and filler materials. Cars, bikes, and motorcycles benefit from this technology.
Fitted to a bicycle, tires with BlackChili give riders supreme confidence whether they’re tumbling downhill on a mountain bike or time-trialing on a road bike. Fitted to a car, drivers can expect maximum grip during acceleration, cornering, and braking on wet or dry roads. For Motorcycle riders, the BlackChili offers high grip rates even from cold temperatures, with a quick warm-up. So the rider does not need to use warmers before going into the track. In addition, it offers a grip never seen before in a road sport tire, allowing also strong leanings where the tire is exposed to high stress and where more contact surface is demanded.
The new ContiSportAttack 4 has been awarded several times by industry specialists, even winning the label of ‘best buy’ in a comparative carried out by the prestigious German magazine MO or getting the best score in the comparative of tires made by the Austrian magazine Motorrad Magazin. In conclusion, the ContiSportAttack 4 has proven to be a compound with a certain inclination towards sports and high performance for the user to enjoy the road like a professional rider.
ContiRaceAttack 2 Street, a street-legal circuit tire
On the other hand, the ContiRaceAttack 2 Street is an evolution of the ContiRaceAttack Comp. End and is a track tire that is approved for use on public roads. It is in the hypersport range and has a high performance that makes it a perfect circuit tire for road use as well.
What does this tire have in common with the ContiSportAttack 4? The BlackChili compound, which also improves the grip of the tire in dry conditions and thus becomes another possibility for the user to find a tire that can be adapted to both track and road. It is very important that the ContiRaceAttack 2 Street is not confused with its range brother the ContiRaceAttack 2 – available in medium and soft compound – because the last one is not approved for road use.
These examples allow us to see that sometimes the Racing range and the Hypersprt range of tires are not so far apart. It all depends on the use we make of it and on finding the option that best suits our behavior on the bike.
