No Need to Change Tires
If you are a cornering enthusiast and you are just starting to take your first steps on track: no, you don’t have to have two different tires. Continental has two options that are suitable for both occasions, providing safe braking, cornering grip and handling control. We are talking about the ContiSportAttack 4 and the ContiRaceAttack 2 Street.
Before we continue, we would like to take this opportunity to remind you of the video below in which we can see a spectacular demonstration of how far Continental sports tires are capable of going. Don’t miss it!
Undoubtedly, among the features shared by the ContiSportAttack 4 and ContiRaceAttack 2 Street is the BlackChili compound. This technology, developed and patented by Continental, marked a before and after in the company’s tires. One of its main characteristics – and the one that most benefits this type of tire – is its fast warm-up without the need to use tire warmers.
If we talk about the needs of cornering users, we cannot fail to mention that the BlackChili allows tires to shorten braking distances and improve grip in both dry and wet conditions. Important! And all that without reducing tire life.
Both the ContiSportAttack 4 and the ContiRaceAttack 2 Street are suitable for both open road and track use. If you are going to choose between the two, we advise you to choose according to your most regular rides. If you are more of a road rider, but you like to ride on the track from time to time, go for the ContiSportAttack 4. While if your thing is mainly the track, go for the ContiRaceAttack 2 Street which, despite being circuit tires, are approved for road use.
In addition to the BlackChili compound, these two super sport tires share the following technologies:
- MultiGrip: this is a compound vulcanized at different temperatures that provides more resistance/strength in the central area of the tread to last for more kilometers and not “wear out”.
- ZeroDegree: this technology optimizes shock absorption and guarantees the user extreme stability at high speeds.
- GripLimitFeedback: ensures that riders can better feel the performance of the tires by transmitting more faithful sensations during extreme lean angles. In critical situations, it is imperative for the rider to receive tire feedback at an early stage to achieve a higher level of control at the limit.
Last but not least, the ContiSportAttack 4 and ContiRaceAttack 2 Street are developed and manufactured in the German factory in Korbach, Germany, the famous ContiDrom development center, and tested on the fast German highways.
