ContiSportAttack 3: Superb Performance

Performance Bikes Magazine put the ContiSportAttack 3 to the test once more, as contributor and road tester John McAvoy was eager to find out more about this sport tire.

This year, John has been putting in the miles on several bikes, including the BMW S 1000 RR.

So far, John has covered 1,500 miles on his set of ContiSportAttack 3 tires. Throughout his experience, John has had a very positive impression of this halo hypersport tire:

“These tires did really well in our tire test this year, so I was keen to try them out on my BMW S1000RR.”

“The front in particular pepped up the steering a little bit. Not so much that it became nervous, or unstable, just enough to make my S1000RR feel agile and easier to chuck around.”

“The rear was just beginning to show signs of wear in the middle at about 1200 miles, including some sustained, very high speed ‘bahn-storming.”

“On the road, I was getting 54 degrees of lean, with luggage, in complete confidence. I had all the grip I could wish for on the road, and only the mildest feathering at the edges.”

“The heatwave of 2018 means I never got to try them in the wet, but overall, they are a superb set of tires with excellent handling characteristics. They have plenty of grip for the road, and decent durability.”

The latest ContiSportAttack 3 uses several core Continental technologies. One of these is our unique MultiGrip Technology, which creates a dual-compound style tire from a single piece of rubber. This is due to a carefully-controlled curing process. It creates a tire that offers more progressive handling, softening gradually as the bike leans. Grip Limit Feedback Technology also ensures accurate feedback at the limit to help you get the most out of your bike with complete confidence.

The ContiSportAttack 3 is so good, that many track riders use it as an alternative option on damp circuits, proving the incredible level of wet weather performance that it offers.
