Continental presents six new motorcycle tires for 2020 at EICMA
The Milan motorcycle show 2019 has served as a stage to reveal Continental’s upcoming news with a series of varied and interesting motorcycle tires.
Continental will be on the move in 2020 launching six new motorcycle tires within three different segments. Three new sport tires that will redefine the sport tire world, two new road tires for the on-the-go city rider and an all new all-terrain tire that will rock the dual-sport class. Continental will also ramp up production in Asia to meet worldwide demand.
ContiSportAttack 4
The next generation in the SportAttack line leads the new tire launch for 2020. The ContiSportAttack 4, the successor to the SportAttack 3, has a new profile design that offers a larger contact area for greater grip and precision handling. New standards in performance, accuracy and easy handling are met thanks to Continental’s BlackChili compound.
ContiRaceAttack 2 Street and ContiRaceAttack 2 soft / medium
For more hard core sports riders, Korbach presents the hypersport ContiRaceAttack 2 Street road tire, a racing tire that can also handle allround duties and replaces the ContiRaceAttack Comp.End.
If a sport tire is the only one for you and the track is your second home, then opt for the further enhanced ContiRaceAttack 2 and its uncompromising racing qualities – in ‘soft’ or ‘medium’, to achieve top performance on the race track with reduced air pressure and tire warmers. It replaces the ContiRaceAttack Comp and will excel in outstanding track stability and road grip attributes thanks to the BlackChili compound.
TKC 70 Rocks
The fourth new tire in Continental’s 2020 tire assault is the TKC 70 Rocks – a rear wheel tire without a center tread band and with lugs over the entire tread pattern. It’s a cross between the TKC 70 and TKC 80 and can be used on rougher terrain than the 70 and is better on the road than the TKC 80, offering an attractive alternative for riders that seek unparalleled journeys. The TKC 70 Rocks can be combined with a TKC 70 front tire, creating an additional tire option for those who yearn maximum adventure.
ContiRoad
The new ContiRoad will lead the way in sport touring for 2020. This agile marathon runner is engineered in Germany, and its Korbach origins are revving up the road segment. It’s at home somewhere between the ContiRoadAttack 3 and its predecessor the ContiRoadAttack 2. The ‘EVO’ will be discontinued, but the ContiMotion remains in the portfolio.
ContiStreet
Motorcycles with medium to small engine displacement, Continental introduces the ContiStreet – an entirely new cross-ply tire, which replaces the ContiGO! (City). Like the ContiRoad, the ContiStreet was designed is based off the highly successful Korbach multi-award winning ContiRoadAttack 3. Both tires stand out from the crowd when it comes to dependability, road grip and lifespan.
German engineering
Continental in 2020 will create additional production capacity in Asia, taking into account the increased demand for motorcycle tires worldwide. “Our Engineered in Germany quality label represents a combination of Korbach expertise and Asian precision, which ensures that we’re able to meet the challenge of producing high additional volume”, explains Martin Burdorf, Head of Sales and Marketing Continental Motorcycle Tires. The trusted Handcrafted in Germany label established over many years continues to include all radial ply tires produced at the Korbach site today.
