This Privacy Policy explains what personal information contimotousablog.com (the “blog”) collects, why, and the choices you have. It covers this blog only.
At a glance
- Newsletter: we ask only for your email address, to send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Analytics and security: to count visits, deliver the blog and protect it from attacks, we and our providers process your IP address, browser and device type and the pages you view. We count all visits with Matomo, which runs on the blog’s own server, uses no cookies and anonymizes IP addresses. Google Analytics and Oracle Infinity, which use cookies, load only if you accept them.
- How long: newsletter addresses while you are subscribed; Google Analytics data for 14 months and its cookies for up to 2 years; your cookie choice for 12 months; everything else only as long as needed. Details.
- No sale or sharing: through this blog we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Your choices: change your choice at any time in Cookie settings. We treat Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals as an opt-out.
- Your rights: contact Continental Tire the Americas at [email protected] or (833) 656-0555.
Who we are
This blog is published for Continental Tire the Americas, LLC (“CTA”, “we”, “us”). Ride Thru Media S.L.U. (“RT Media”) runs it for CTA as a service provider: it manages the blog’s domain, hosting, maintenance and newsletter.
What we collect and why
Newsletter
The sign-up form asks only for your email address. The form doesn’t load anything from Mailchimp, the email service RT Media uses for the newsletter: your address is sent to Mailchimp only when you submit it. We use it to send you the blog’s newsletter, and every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link.
Analytics
Matomo, for all visitors. We use Matomo to count visits and see which content is read. It runs on the blog’s own server, uses no cookies and anonymizes IP addresses.
Google Analytics and Oracle Infinity, only with your consent. If you accept “Analytics” in the cookie banner, we also load Google Analytics 4 and Oracle Infinity, an Oracle analytics service used by Continental. They use cookies to measure how the blog is used, such as the pages viewed and the type of device and browser. In Google Analytics, Google Signals is turned off and the property is not linked to Google Ads.
Push notifications (past subscribers only)
The blog no longer offers push notifications and no longer loads OneSignal. If you subscribed in the past, you may still receive notifications sent through OneSignal. To stop them, turn off notifications for contimotousablog.com in your browser settings.
Comments (closed)
Comments are closed. Comments posted in the past remain published with the name the commenter gave. We also keep the other information submitted with each comment, such as the email address, IP address and browser type.
Server and security logs
To deliver the blog and protect it from attacks, the blog’s hosting provider Kualo, the Cloudflare network in front of the blog and the Wordfence firewall process technical information about each request, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested.
YouTube videos
Videos are shown as a still image with a play button. The YouTube player (from youtube-nocookie.com, run by Google) loads only when you click it, and Google may then set its own cookies. On AMP pages, or if JavaScript is off, the image links to youtube.com instead.
AMP pages
Some posts have an AMP version, a lighter page for mobile devices that usually opens from Google. AMP pages load the AMP code from cdn.ampproject.org (Google), which receives your IP address and browser type, without cookies. AMP pages do not use Google Analytics or Oracle Infinity.
Categories of personal information
In the last 12 months, the blog has collected the categories below. It does not ask for sensitive personal information, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than those allowed by section 7027(m) of the CCPA regulations.
| Category | Examples | Source | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Email address (newsletter), name (past comments), IP address, cookie and push subscription identifiers | You; your browser or device | Sending the newsletter, publishing comments, analytics, delivering notifications, security |
| Internet or other electronic network activity | Pages viewed, how you use the blog, browser and device type | Your browser or device | Analytics, running and securing the blog |
| Content you post | Past comments | You | Publishing comments |
How long we keep it
- Newsletter: while you are subscribed. After you unsubscribe, your address may stay on the list marked as unsubscribed, so that you don’t receive further emails, unless you ask CTA to delete it.
- Google Analytics: event data is kept for 14 months; its cookies last up to 2 years.
- Your cookie choice: 12 months.
- Everything else (Matomo, Oracle Infinity, push subscriptions, past comments and logs): only as long as needed for the purposes described above.

Cookies and your choices

YouTube cookies are set only if you play a video. If you withdraw your consent, we delete the Google Analytics cookies.

|---|---|---|---|
| conti_consent | This blog | Essential: remembers your cookie choice | 12 months |

Editors who log in to WordPress also receive its login cookies. Matomo doesn’t use cookies.
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) or Do Not Track (DNT) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of optional cookies for that browser: the cookie banner isn’t shown, Google Analytics and Oracle Infinity don’t load and, until you make a choice yourself, Cookie settings shows that your opt-out request was honored. The signal applies even if you accepted Analytics before. If, after seeing that notice, you accept Analytics again in Cookie settings, we follow that choice until you change it. Matomo still counts the visit, without cookies and with an anonymized IP address.
Tracking by other companies
Other companies may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use this blog in these cases:
- If you accept Analytics: Google and Oracle set cookies to measure visits to the blog. In Google Analytics, Google Signals is off and the property isn’t linked to Google Ads.
- If you play a YouTube video: Google may set its own cookies, under Google’s privacy policy.
Otherwise, the blog doesn’t load third-party analytics. It also doesn’t use Gravatar or the WordPress emoji script, so its pages don’t contact those services.
