contiroadattack 3PS Magazine named the ContiRoadAttack 3 as the 2017 sport-touring test winner. This test victory has proven the superb qualities implemented in Continental’s excellent sport-touring tire.In just over four months, it is Continental’s 2nd win in the sport-touring segment. The Road Attack 3 now holds another test win after winning Motorrad Magazine’s 2017 Best Sport-Touring tire test.

One of the factors that did not change for this test was the test bike. The Suzuki GSX-S 750 remains a great platform to test a wide range of high performance tires. Testers from the PS Magazine ran six pairs of sports touring tires in sizes 120/70 ZR17 and 180/55 ZR17. In the end there was one clear winner: The ContiRoadAttack 3. It scored a total of 277 points from a possible 300. The Continental tire got the best results in accuracy, stability, grip and feedback.

The contenders were the latest renderings from the top brands: Pirelli Angel GT, Metzeler Roadtec 01, Michelin Pilot Road 4, Dunlop RoadSmart 3 and Bridgestone Battlax T30 EVO. For the runs on both dry and wet tarmac, the testers paid particular attention to cold tire behavior, handling, accuracy, stability, grip and feedback. The deceleration speeds in wet conditions were also documented in detail and evaluated.

In the dry, the ContiRoadAttack 3 proved to be superior than the competition. Here, it won seven of the eight different parts of the test. This test included cold tire temperature performance, handling, steering precision and grip levels. In the dry, the ContiRoadAttack 3 managed an impressive 187 points from a 200 total.

Wet weather performance was praised once again. Engineers and designers at Continental worked very hard to develop a tire with excellent wet weather capabilities. PS Magazine was extremely pleased to see that the ContiRoadAttack 3 delivered. By coming either first or second in every part of the wet weather test, it scored just 10 points shy of a perfect 100 point scale.

Testers concluded the tire was “a good all-rounder that deals well with a sporty riding style.”

contiroadattack 3It was a close run battle between the candidates in many disciplines. But in some of the tests, the ContiRoadAttack 3 achieved particularly good results and was able to take the overall victory.

As expected, the final judgment from the test writers was positive: “The competition didn’t come close in terms of accuracy, stability, grip or feedback.”

The ContiRoadAttack 3 is available in a wide range of sizes for your tourer, naked and even adventure motorcycle.

The ContiRoadAttack 3 is built to grip!
