What sets Eurosport Asheville apart?
Asheville, NC is nationally known as a destination city. It’s a “food destination”, well-known for its eclectic restaurants and BBQ joints. Asheville is also a “beer destination” for its amazing number (60 at last count) of craft breweries including national brands Sierra Nevada, New Belgium and Oskar Blues. I’m sure we’ve all heard the term “destination dealership” but what does it really mean? Most motorcyclists would agree it’s the dealership we all want to go to, not the one we’re forced to patronize because we need OEM parts or because they’re the only one in town.
Eurosport Asheville BMW / KTM earns the title “destination dealership” because it is the type of place all motorcyclists want to shop. From its modern, sleek well-stocked showroom to its friendly, knowledgeable staff this dealership truly has it all. Of course, being located in the heart of the best motorcycle riding areas in North America doesn’t hurt either. Eurosport Asheville is just minutes away from the famous Blue Ridge Parkway, an easy ride to Deal’s Gap, The Cherohala Skyway, The Diamondback and many other popular motorcycle roads in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina.
Eurosport Asheville stocks the high-quality parts, accessories and gear serious moto enthusiasts are looking for: Klim, Rev-it, Shuberth, Arai and of course, Continental tires. In fact, Continental is the #1 tire brand sold.
When asked their secret to selling so many Continental tires, owner Thomas Montgomery says “it’s because most of us here run Continental tires on our own bikes. That makes them easy to sell”. Eurosport Asheville is part of the “Continental Preferred Dealer” program which means you can count on expert advice and a good selection of Conti tires in stock. Serious riders don’t want to wait on tires so Eurosport Asheville stocks the popular sizes of Conti tires for BMW, KTM and most Adventure and Sport Touring motorcycles.
Thomas wasn’t always in the motorcycle business. He got his start in Asheville as the proprietor of the famous BBQ restaurants, 12 Bones. His original plan was to open a fine dining restaurant in downtown Asheville but when a funky location in the trendy River Arts District became available he changed the concept and 12 Bones was born. 12 Bones expanded to a second location and soon drew national attention as a favorite BBQ stop for a now former President.
In addition to great BBQ, Thomas saw a need for a BMW and KTM dealership in the motorcycle friendly town of Asheville. He approached BMW one day about the topic and the rest is history – Eurosport Asheville was born. Since opening seven years ago Eurosport Asheville has expanded to 12 full-time employees with Thomas concentrating full time on the motorcycle dealership.
Now 49, Thomas began riding motorcycles at an early age and his passion for motorcycles grew with his fathers Ossa/Monarch dealership in Northern Illinois. Today, he still rides the occasional MX track “if no one is watching”, but prefers the adventure of Dual Sport riding and says the Continental TKC 80 is his “tire of choice wherever I go”. Despite his preference for on/off road riding, the KTM 1290 Super Duke R is the “most exciting motorcycle I’ve even ridden”.
