Who’s That Girl?

Stephanie and Ryan on location in Sedona with videographer, Ray Gauger

You’ve no doubt noticed that Continental has a new V-Twin tire on the market called the ContiTour, designed and engineered for hard-core V-Twin riders. Continental launched the new ContiTour with an authentic ad that spoke to real V-Twin motorcycle riders. To do this, Continental used real and relevant motorcyclists as models. Sedona, AZ was chosen as the location and a phone call to Arizona custom bike builder, Dave Del Maestro of Sideshow’s Cycles, put us in touch with two genuine riders: Stephanie Pietz and Ryan Kruesi . Besides being experienced motorcycle riders, Stephanie and Ryan also had plenty of previous experience in front of the camera.

If you are a fan of the V-Twin scene, you recognize Stephanie Pietz from her countless appearances in various magazines. Stephanie’s passion for motorcycles began at a young age when she first sat on her Dad’s 1976 Shovelhead. Recently she’s taken that love of motorcycles to the next level by competing in the WORCS series (desert off road)  and the RSD Super Hooligan Flat Track series. Stephanie has even tried her hand at Freestyle MX, learning to jump and back-flip with the pros. Stephanie has worked in the motorsports industry for over a decade and is here to stay. She has worked with Rockstar Energy, Lucas Oil and Metal Mulisha. She is now thrilled to add Continental Tires to that list.

How It All Began

In Stephanie’s own words, When I was growing up there weren’t a lot of female riders to look up to. These days hundreds of women race and thousands of them own motorcycles. Which brings me to my ‘why’ do I do it. There are tons of beautiful females who can pull in a clutch and shift gears, but there are few who have a fueling passion for it that shows and resonates with others. When I get messages from female riders or just any female saying that I motivate them to ride more, buy a bike, or just adventure into the industry in general, it feels me with a great sense of accomplishment. The fact that I can be an inspirational role model, like the one I didn’t have growing up, is a feeling that is irreplaceable. I have the ability to show women that you can be a badass on a bike and still be feminine. You don’t have to stop acting like a girl just because you can hang with the guys on the track.”

When she’s not modeling or racing, Stephanie enjoys riding and playing around on her ContiTour equipped ’91 Harley FXR. “I’ve put in a lot of work to get her in top shape and I’m really happy with my new Conti Tour tires. The Conti Tour rides so much smoother and more comfortable than my previous tires- what a difference!” Stephanie even rode her FXR from Phoenix to Sedona for the Conti Tour photo shoot.
