Salt Lake City, Utah was the destination for this year’s BMW MOA Rally. The Salt Lake Fairgrounds provided the venue for the rally which was nestled within view of the majestic Uinta Mountain Range. BMW riders from all over North America and as far away as Germany congregated this past July for a 5-day rally that entertained, enlightened and provided lasting memories to all who rode in.

The BMW MOA Rally was packed with events, seminars and entertainment from sunrise to sunset. The rally included GEARS training, vendor seminars, a street skills course, BMW demo rides, vintage motorcycle display, GS Adventure track and over 120 vendors who provided food, motorcycle gear, accessories and more!

Among the vendors was the world-famous Continental Motorcycle Tires, to which loyal customer Dirk Tenant from Ohio expressed his satisfaction, “I just want to let you know that the ContiClassicAttack tires are the best I’ve ever ridden on my BMW Airhead” he said. Apart from taking complements, Continental was on-hand to help all attendees and riders to discover and get educated on the world’s premium lineup in the Adventure motorcycle tire segment including the ContiTrailAttack 2, TKC 70 and the TKC 80.  Continental was also debuting the all new ContiRoadAttack 3, a sport touring tire that combines all the best technology from Conti and delivers an award winning tire and accolades from Germany’s Motorrad Magazine.

For all the campers at the rally, there were plenty of amenities at the rally site: free coffee, showers, Sherpa tents, oil changes, shuttle services to downtown, a cyber café, door prizes, electrical charging stations, MOA gear store, s sewing booth, bike wash, a beer garden, live music every night and a 5K run for crying out loud!

Thanks to all these events and activities, riders were very happy to attend. “BMW MOA is always putting on great rallies and Salt Lake 2017 did not disappoint – what a fantastic weekend!”, said Paul Rohleder from Maine.

Riders started rollin’ into the rally venue on Wednesday and there were campsites and tents spread out to almost every corner of the fairgrounds. Vendors were setting up booths both inside air conditioned buildings and outside where the average temperature for the rally was around 95 degrees! Riders spent the next four days enjoying all that the rally had to offer. The NO MAR tire changing station was operating non-stop as many riders changed out the rubber shoes on their trusty steeds. The BMW crowd was terrific. People from all around swapped stories of their scenic adventures as they made their way to the rally. There was so much to do, so much to learn and so many friendships to make that it was truly an action-packed rally with some of the best folks in the motorcycling world. On top of that there were the bikes! BMW in all shapes and sizes, young ones, new ones and some pretty old ones. It was like a BMW museum and showroom had relocated to Salt Lake City! There was so much metal eye candy you could barely take it all in.

The 2017 BMW MOA Rally was a truly epic event and was hosted by a gracious city that provided anything and everything that couldn’t be found at the rally. The Rally was great, the venue was great, the bikes were great and most of all, the BMW riders were great. Bottom line, you really missed out if you didn’t make it to the 2017 BMW MOA Rally… The “Crossroads of The West”.
