Over 50,000 riders and motorcycle enthusiasts attended this year’s Wasaga Beach Motorcycle Rally in Ontario, Canada from the 14th to the 16th of July. In a mere three years, the rally has grown from 8000 attendees in 2015 and it is firmly securing its status as the largest annual motorcycle rally in Canada. This was a great opportunity for all the riders to check out the best tires on the market.
Rally organizer, Mike Dunphy, said his goal was to “grow this event to surrounding towns to give rally goers even more to do. We estimate the economic impact to be approximately $2 million plus over the weekend of the rally in Simcoe County. That includes hotels and motels in Collingwood in Wasaga Beach and surrounding areas not to mention food and beverage, groceries and gas to name a few”. The Wasaga Beach Rally is much like an American annual rally such as Daytona Bike Week or Sturgis. Attendees from all over Canada come to this popular beach town north of Toronto to experience Canada’s unique motorcyclist culture.
The Continental arch provided the gateway to the rally vendor area where Canadian motorcyclists could learn about Continental’s new V-Twin and Cruiser tires, the ContiTour and ContiLegend along with the new Motorrad Magazine test winner, the ContiRoadAttack 3 Sport-Touring tire. Continental’s customized Harley Davidson Road King gave rally goers a chance to see the ContiTour in person and on one of the most popular Harley Davidson cruisers. Riders also learned about Continental’s new Flat Tire Road Assistance Program which offers free flat tire towing of up to 150 miles for three years with unlimited mileage.
Continental Motorcycle tires are exclusively distributed by Parts Canada and its marketing manager, Laura Lenko-Graham had only good things to say about the rally. “Wasaga has forever been a summer destination in Ontario, but the Wasaga Beach Motorcycle Rally has taken that to the extreme. So many people said “it’s Sturgis North” but I truly think it’s large enough that it can live up to its own name. It’s Canada’s Wasaga Beach Motorcycle Rally”, she said.
If you live in Canada or the North Eastern United States be sure to check out next year’s Wasaga Beach Rally where you can shop for the latest motorcycle gear, attend free concerts, take a lake cruise or a scenic motorcycle ride. Be sure to visit the Continental tent to say “hello”, receive cool giveaways and check out the best tires for your motorcycle.
