ContiSportAttack 5: The Go-To Tire for High-Performance Bikes
The ContiSportAttack 5 is Continental’s new supersport benchmark. It’s a tire developed on the track but designed mainly for the street—about 80% road and 20% trackdays. It brings sharp handling, quick turn-in, and standout grip thanks to the new-gen BlackChili compound. The updated carcass and MultiZoneBelt tech help the bike feel more direct and smooth when switching from lean to lean. It also warms up faster, so performance comes almost right from the start.
It’s aimed at high-performance sportbikes and nakeds, the kind that demand stability, confidence, and consistency on twisty roads or during the occasional training session at the track. For many riders, this tire hits that sweet spot between an all-out track tire and a street-only option.
BMW S 1000 RR
The BMW S 1000 RR is still one of the go-to liter superbikes. Its 999cc inline-four pushes 210 hp, backed by cutting-edge electronics with ride modes, traction control, engine-brake management, and a full IMU-based system. It’s basically a racebike you can actually ride on the street.
The aluminum chassis, aero winglets, and high-end suspension make it brutally effective on track, yet impressively stable on fast roads. A perfect playground for the ContiSportAttack 5, which can keep up with a superbike’s pace while staying versatile enough for everyday riding.
Yamaha R9
The Yamaha YZF-R9 slots right between the R7 and the R1, leaning clearly toward the sporty side. Its 890cc CP3 triple puts out 119 hp, with smooth delivery and strong mid-range. The electronics package includes an IMU, traction control, ride modes, and engine-brake management—everything you need to stay composed in tight, twisty sections.
The lightweight chassis, adjustable suspension, and powerful brakes make it easy to flick into corners and stable under hard braking. It shines on both the road and in trackdays, making the ContiSportAttack 5 a perfect match for its personality.
KTM 1390 Super Duke R EVO
The KTM 1390 Super Duke R EVO is the definition of an over-the-top hyper-naked. Its LC8 V-twin now hits 190 hp, managed by a long list of electronics including ride modes, quickshifter, anti-wheelie and track-focused settings.
With its steel-tube chassis, WP semi-active suspension, and Brembo Stylema brakes, the setup is stiff, precise, and extremely capable. It’s a demanding bike, and it simply needs a high-performance tire like the ContiSportAttack 5 to match what it can do.
Yamaha MT-10 SP
The Yamaha MT-10 SP keeps the raw personality of its CP4 engine (derived from the R1), making 165 hp with a strong mid-range punch. The IMU-based electronics include traction control, anti-wheelie, engine-brake management, and power modes. The big highlight: its Öhlins semi-active suspension.
It’s a naked full of character—direct, stable, and super solid under braking. With that level of performance, it needs a sporty, road-friendly tire that still feels trustworthy if you take it for a session on track.
Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS
The Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS stands out with its 183 hp triple, a smooth yet seriously fast engine. Its electronic suite includes ride modes, traction control, anti-wheelie, quickshifter, and engine-brake management, all backed by an IMU.
The aluminum chassis, Öhlins SmartEC3 suspension, and Akrapovič exhaust tell you exactly what kind of bike this is. Balanced, stable, and quick to turn—traits that match perfectly with the ContiSportAttack 5’s agile personality.
Honda CB1000 Hornet SP
The Honda CB1000 Hornet SP uses the Fireblade-derived 1,000cc inline-four tuned to 155 hp and 107 Nm, with a more aggressive setup and a quickshifter included. Its ride modes adjust power, traction, and engine-brake response to suit each scenario.
Up front there’s a Showa SFF-BP fork, and at the rear an Öhlins TTX36 shock, paired with Brembo Stylema brakes. These are serious components. It’s a sharp, precise naked with a sportier feel than the standard version—ideal for making the most of a tire like the ContiSportAttack 5.
BMW S 1000 R
The BMW S 1000 R puts out 170 hp, paired with a direct-feeling throttle and an optimized Pro quickshifter. It keeps BMW’s full electronic arsenal, including an updated traction control system, making it a beast for fast back-roads.
The aluminum frame, 45 mm upside-down fork, and radial Brembo brakes create a very balanced setup for spirited riding. Agile, stable, and full of character—right in line with the ContiSportAttack 5’s supersport approach.
Kawasaki Z900
The Kawasaki Z900 keeps its 948cc inline-four, known for its punchy mid-range and smooth response. It now includes a more advanced electronics package with IMU-based aids, ride modes, power modes, and traction control to get the most out of its 120 hp.
Its distinct design, the TFT display with navigation features, and improved ergonomics all build on an already popular model. The Nissin radial brakes step up its sporty feel, and it remains one of the most loved performance nakeds around.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R sticks with its 636cc inline-four, producing 124 hp and optimized for stronger low- and mid-range. It features traction control, quickshifter, power modes, and a 4.3-inch TFT with phone connectivity.
The Showa SFF-BP fork and radial brakes with 310 mm discs underline its focus on pure performance. It’s a well-rounded supersport that works both on the road and on trackdays—where the ContiSportAttack 5’s quick warm-up really shines.
Ducati Streetfighter V2
The Ducati Streetfighter V2 debuts a new 890cc V-twin making 120 hp, with variable intake timing (IVT) and a smoother, more usable character than the previous generation. The six-axis IMU manages ABS Cornering, traction control, anti-wheelie, engine-brake control, and a quickshifter.
Its monocoque frame, fully adjustable Marzocchi and Kayaba suspension, and Brembo M50 brakes make it a very sharp and lightweight naked. Its balanced mix of agility and stability pairs especially well with the ContiSportAttack 5 on twisty roads.
