The New ContiRoadAttack 4, Compatible With the Best Bikes

We are about to receive the 2022 and we already know all the new bikes that will arrive at the dealerships of the big brands. For our part, we also have a new addition, and in just a few weeks the already presented ContiRoadAttack 4 will be launched on the market, a tire that comes to satisfy the most sporty touring users. So much so that we could not classify it in the Sport-touring section, and we had to create the new Hyper-touring segment.

The new ContiRoadAttack 4 is a tire developed after a long research process and with the aim of surpassing its predecessor the ContiRoadAttack 3, so beloved by the public. It incorporates a new compound and design, and the ends of the tire tread are “slick”, without tread pattern, which guarantees precision and grip even at maximum lean angle.

It has the latest Continental technology added and manages to offer more grip and stability – also in the wet – while improving comfort and durability. The ContiRoadAttack 4 has a performance typical of sport tires designed for the latest machines, as well as for the most developed touring bikes of the moment. That’s why we wanted to make a ‘top ten’ of the best 2022 innovations that fit perfectly with our latest tires. Which one would you choose?

Honda NT1100

Honda has launched a new model thinking of those users who expect to make long trips comfortably, the Honda NT1100 2022. It is a new touring motorcycle based on the successful Africa Twin, but looking for maximum comfort on long journeys on paved roads. The brand has been very ambitious when creating its new model and has provided it with high performance. It has the same inline twin-cylinder engine used by the Honda Africa Twin, with a displacement of 1084 cc and a power of 98 hp. But if there is something to highlight in the Honda NT1100 2022 is the electronics, where it has applied the latest technology available. The Japanese have put all the meat on the grill to position itself in the tourer segment, we will now see how the most asphalt users welcome it.

Kawasaki Versys 650

If we talk about the sport-touring sector we have to mention one of the most eye-catching touring bikes on the market, the Kawasaki Versys 650 2022, which this year arrives renewed in terms of design and electronics. The mid-displacement model of the Japanese brand has the tubular chassis and narrow engine profile offering an easy, comfortable and fun ride. It stands out for its versatility, as it responds to users who take the bike to move around the city, and also to those who use it to ride on weekends alone or with a passenger. In 2022, the Kawasaki Versys 650 also comes with the possibility of expanding its equipment to create its own version depending on the selection of extra luggage.

Kawasaki Z900 SE

Continuing with Kawasaki, we must also stop at the Z900 SE 2022. It is the most claimed model of the Z range, has four cylinders in line of 948 cc with a power of 123 hp. The SE version arrived to meet the demands of users who asked for a sportier character in the naked, and therefore incorporates more dynamically prepared equipment to compensate for its increased weight to 212 kg (2 kilos more). And before finishing with the Kawasaki Z range we could not fail to mention the Kawasaki Z650RS 2022, which has been developed following the same concept but with a custom aesthetic and targeting a younger or less experienced audience.

KTM 1290 Super Duke GT

The KTM 1290 Super Duke GT 2022 is one of the bikes that most shares the philosophy of the ContiRoadAttack 4, designed to offer comfort on the road, but with a super sport point for those who do not want to give up the curves. This model has many similarities with its R sister, but is aimed at becoming one of the top sport-touring bikes on the market. Its LC8 V-twin engine of 1301 cc, 172 hp of power and 141 Nm of torque is its main attraction. The wheels are the same as those of the Super Duke R, so it improves the behavior and aesthetics compared to the previous model. If you also want an even sportier touch, you can also equip it with the ContiSportAttack 4, which, it is worth mentioning, are the tires that come standard.

Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello

Another of the great novelties for 2022 is the new Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello, a sport-touring model with the latest technological innovations at the mechanical and electronic level. This bike represents the return of the Italian brand to this segment under a neo-retro design but with current technology. Among its most outstanding features is the compact engine block or the adaptive aerodynamics that come for the first time to Moto Guzzi. The engine is a 90º V-twin with 1,042 cc and 115 hp of maximum power.

Suzuki GSX-S1000GT

Created on the basis of the GSX-S1000 sport naked, the Suzuki GSX-S1000GT 2022 is the sport-touring option that includes improvements focused on tourism as the instrumentation or connectivity system. The Japanese have modified the aerodynamics of the naked with a front fairing and a front screen designed to protect the rider. This version shares engine with the GSX-S1000 and has a maximum power of 149 hp. Undoubtedly, this bike has the perfect balance between control, dynamism and performance, just like the ContiRoadAttack 4.

Triumph Tiger Sport 660

Triumph has launched for next year the Triumph Tiger Sport 660 2022, that is, again we will find in its catalog a sport-tourer of medium displacement. It shares a three-cylinder engine with the Triumph Trident 660, maximum torque of 64 Nm at 6250 rpm and a maximum power of 80 hp at 10,250 rpm, that is, one of the most powerful in this segment asphalt. The Tiger Sport 660 is a good choice for everyday riding, offering both fun and comfort. It is dynamic and agile and for those who want to use it for long trips should know that it has been equipped with a comfortable two-seater seat and a 17-liter tank. The British brand has also paid great attention to the design.

Yamaha MT-09

The Yamaha MT-09 is always a safe bet. Although in 2022 it remains virtually unchanged from the 2021 model, which did get a complete overhaul with new engine, new chassis, new design and new electronics, this bike has been a favorite for years among sport-touring users. The engine is a three-cylinder, 889 cc, 117 hp and 93 nm of torque, and combines perfectly with the ContiRoadAttack 4.

Ducati Scrambler Urban Motard

For those who are looking for a different aesthetic than usual in this segment, we recommend the Ducati Scrambler Urban Motard 2022, which stands out not only for its retro lines, but also for its urban, agile and manageable character. As its name suggests, it is designed for urban use, but some elements such as the 17″ spoked wheels or the raised front fender also bring it quite close to the world of supermotard. The engine is an 803 cc inline twin-cylinder with desmodromic distribution, delivers 72 hp of power at 8,250 rpm and has cornering ABS for more safety when braking on inclines. The Duacti Scrambler Urban Motard can be summed up as an agile model for riding in urban traffic and very sporty on curvy roads.

Zero SR

Finally, the ContiRoadAttack 4 also has a place for the electric sector, and the Zero SR 2022 is an example. This model has a very affordable price and at the same time has great features, including a long range and fast charging. Its ZF 75-10 motor has an efficiency of 166 Nm of torque, 73 hp (55 kW) of power and a top speed of 167 km/h (105 mph). In addition, Zero has included the Cypher III+ operating system update, which allows software updates and improvements to be installed on the motorcycle, such as reducing recharging times, improving performance or adding electronic assists, among others.
