The ContiRoadAttack 3 is known to be the premier tire within sport-touring. Today, members of the media will be putting the tire to the test along the twisty outskirts of Madrid, Spain. The group of journalist arrived deep in the city of Madrid to find several Yamaha bikes each equipped with a set of ContiRoadAttack 3 tires. A Yamaha MT-07, Yamaha MT-09 SP, a Yamaha Tracer 900 and a Yamaha Tracer 900GT. The team anxious to begin the day took off along the highway exiting the city center and heading straight for the twisty outskirts. The outskirts of Madrid provide the optimal testing grounds for any tire. Variances in asphalt and twisty roads that change in elevation are the best way to test a tire!

Yamaha taken to the edge with ContiRoadAttack 3 tires
Let’s breakdown how the ContiRoadAttack 3 performed on the Yamaha machines. We’ll start with the Yamaha MT-07, a typical commuter bike best fit for day-to-day use. The first Journalist immediately noticed the performance the tire gave him, highlighting the tires technology that shortens warm up. “I felt a strong confidence in the tires from the first second of the ride. To me, that technology translates to better feel during either warm or cold mornings”. It’s also worth noting that the Yamaha MT-07 has ABS but no other electronic assistance, meaning each rider could feel how the rubber worked throughout each riding situation.
The ContiRoadAttack 3 also passed the test on the more sporty Yamaha MT-09 SP. The experienced riders in the group really searched for the limits of the Japanese naked sport bike. Maximizing the aggressive acceleration and excellent braking around each twisty turn. The tire performed over and over again, allowing the rider the confidence to enjoy the MT-09 SP’s sporty nature. Some journalist believed they reached a lean angle of 55º, an astonishing number for a street tire.
Of course the ContiRoadAttack 3 shined in sport-touring! Mounted on a Yamaha Tracer 900, a bike designed for those who travel long journeys. Despite the bikes weight and larger dimensions, the Journalists wanted to talk about the stability the bike had during high speeds and its solid performance in slow and sharp corners.
