Continental ContiTrailAttack 4: Built for the road, ready for gravel
Most of your miles are on pavement, but a gravel road can be part of the journey, too. With that in mind, Continental introduces the ContiTrailAttack 4, its new tire for adventure motorcycles. The successor to the ContiTrailAttack 3 will start arriving in the first quarter of 2027, featuring an optimized silica compound, MultiZoneBelt technology, and a new carcass construction for the 21-inch front size.
The ContiTrailAttack 4 retains a 90/10 focus: 90% on-road use and 10% on unpaved roads. It is designed for riders who enjoy twisty roads, commute on their bikes, or head out on trips with luggage, while still leaving room for the occasional detour off the pavement. Improvements focus on grip, faster warm-up, and precise handling, with particular attention to stability even when carrying a load.
That 10% covers sandy, rocky, or gravel roads, where the tire needs to resist cuts and cracking. If your rides involve more dirt, Continental’s lineup also includes the ContiTrailAttack 3 (70/30), the TKC 70 Rocks and ContiEscape (both 60/40), and the TKC 80 and TKC 80² (50/50). ContiTrailAttack 4: Key Updates and Features
Optimized Silica Compound: Faster Warm-Up and Better Grip
The goal is to deliver intuitive, predictable handling throughout the ride, from the first miles of the morning to an afternoon mountain pass. The materials and carcass construction help maintain stability when carrying a load—a common scenario for adventure motorcycles built for long-distance travel.
MultiZoneBelt: Cornering Agility and Straight-Line Stability
This layout combines agility when changing direction with stability on fast straights. The tire is designed to handle the different conditions you may encounter on a single ride, whether you’re exploring back roads or covering highway miles between destinations.
New Carcass Construction for Adventure Bikes With 21-Inch Front Wheels
The result is more precise steering and more direct, stable, and balanced handling. This update is intended to inspire confidence on back roads with changing conditions and on the occasional gravel-road detours covered by its 90/10 design.
The revised bead filler design reinforces the sidewall and improves stability. A new inner liner also makes every size suitable for tubeless use, identified by the TL designation. The mounting setup must always comply with the specifications for your motorcycle and its wheels. Before replacing your tires, review the guide to avoiding common adventure tire installation mistakes.
ContiTrailAttack 4 Fitment: From Middleweight Adventure Bikes to Large-Displacement Tourers
This range brings the same approach to motorcycles with different wheel sizes and riding needs. Before choosing a tire, check the sizes, load and speed ratings, and specifications required for your exact model and version.
If you’re deciding between an adventure tire and a sport-touring tire for your large-displacement adventure bike, check out the ContiRoadAttack 4 vs. ContiTrailAttack 3 comparison and find out whether fitting a 19-inch ContiRoadAttack 4 front tire to an adventure bike makes sense.
