ContiRaceAttack Comp. End: Built to Race

Continental’s ultimate road legal racing street tire, the ContiRaceAttack Comp. End gets second place during the first test with MOTORRAD’s sister magazine, PS Magazin. This magazine is one of the most respected in Germany and are known for their objectivity and fairness.

Four tires participated during this test. The magazine challenged the best of the best: Dunlop Sportsmart TT, Michelin Power RS, Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa 2 and of course, the ContiRaceAttack Comp End.

Despite having the simpler design of all the competition, our road-legal DOT ContiRaceAttack Comp Endurance caused a big upset after topping the wet test. It finished second overall, just two points behind the more expensive Pirelli.

The test bike was a BMW S 1000 RR, using a 200/55 rear tire.

Alcarras Circuit in the northern Spain, provided the setting for the dry weather test, where the ContiRaceAttack Comp Endurance scored 206 from a possible 230 points across all areas. With a 1:02.7s lap time, it was 0.7 s faster than the Michelin, and a whole 2.3 s faster than the Dunlop. It also topped the ranking in terms of outright grip and behavior at the limit.

Official lap times:

  • Pirelli: 1.02,3
  • Continental: 1.02,7
  • Michelin: 1.03,4
  • Dunlop: 1.05,0

The wet test was conducted at Michelin’s Salon-de-Provence test center, with the Continental scoring 88 points from a possible 100 in order to finish and join first place with the Pirelli. The DOT race tire scored maximum points for both handling and steering accuracy in the wet. It also topped the scores for feedback, behavior at the limit and performance under braking.

  1. Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa II – 296/330
  2. Continental ContiRaceAttack Comp – 294/330
