ContiRoadAttack 3, introduced in Spain
On the island of Mallorca, Spain, Continental invited the top motorcycling media from around the world to test the ContiRoadAtttack 3 – their brand new sport-touring tire.
This amazing Balearic island with its twisty roads and perfect weather conditions set the best scenario for this international press launch to experience the latest upgrades and improvements to the ContiRoadAttack 2 that were engineered into the ContiRoadAttack 3.
The journalists had a paddock of over 40 motorcycles to choose for testing with each one equipped with a new set of ContiRoadAttack 3s. Bikes such as the brutal KTM 1290 Super Duke R, the trail BMW R1200GS, the more touring-based BMW R 1200 RT and the BMW R nineT. However, the RoadAttack 3’s sport-touring technologies were best maximized by the asphalt-friendly bikes like the Ducati MultiStrada 1200 S.
It was immediately apparent that the ContiRoadAttack3 exceeded your expectations in every single aspect: comfort, safety, handling and durability. This is due to the advanced technology, or Core Technologies, built into each tire:
EasyHandling: This newly developed technology bestows the tire with linear handling even if gyroscopic forces are nominal like when you’re turning or riding through sharp corners. Also, the tire’s accuracy has increased significantly.- TractionSkin: ensures a safe and short break-in period thanks to a new mold coating tech which eliminates the need for tire-release agents.
- MultiGrip: equips the tire with longer durability and optimized grip in extreme lean angles.
- ZeroDegree: ensures reliable stability at high speeds and only a low kickback due to a 0 degree steel-belt construction.
- RainGrip: superior wet grip technology.
The ContiRoadAttack 3 is a result of the development of these Core Technologies. The journalists agreed that the new CRA3 is undoubtedly better in terms of specs, road feel, confidence and safety in extreme full-throttle or hard braking situations. What’s more, they help the bike to grip the road, making the traction control and electronics less intrusive and improve the stability in aggressive braking.
The journalists had an unforgettable day testing the new ContiRoadAttack 3 on the island of Mallorca. The new CRA3 will be available in 2017 throughout the year depending on sizes. More information about the rollout and availability of sizes and the whole Conti Tire line up can be found at www.conti-moto.com, or from your local Continental Tire Dealer.
